panic attacks the girl. but the girl knows that the wound must bloom and then shine, not be a cause of embitterment.

it's difficult to stare long at these things. they're ugly beyond comprehension and description and it's so tempting to take the easier out. but i won't.

what i suspected is true: buying smaller clothes when i was still seventy pounds overweight is indeed great motivation. today, i tried one of the jackets i bought and found out that my arms can easily fit into them. by may, i think i can wear my old clothes again. or even be a size smaller. ;P

and i might take this diet-and-excercise thing up a notch.

yougurt works. yogurt works wonders. this yummy treat helps burn fat. a serving a day (or more if you like) will make you shed the pounds faster. i highly recommend nestle's fruit selection yogurts. they're low calorie but tasty. :)

the near-perfect narrative

if ever you wasted your time seeing any of the miserably half-baked entries of this year's metro manila film festival, it's time to do yourself some good by watching danny boyle's (tranispotting, 28 days later, the beach) "slumdog millionaire." set in india, this love story is sure to make you swear off anything of the cheesy sort.

now, i'm not going to say anthing else about the film (because if i start, this post is going to be sooooo long), save for what i've written as this post's title. see the movie for yourself. there's a lot of oscar buzz for this movie, and i say it's quite well-deserved. :) (there. i couldn't stop myself. i just had to say it.)

(and the soundtrack rocks, too!)

(and i love M.I.A.)

-----------

philip, if you're reading this, please find time to watch (if you haven't already) "slumdog millionaire." you'll love it, i promise. and oh. visit us! we just have to see each other!!!

Currently listening to: paper planes- M.I.A.
Currently reading: fight club- chuck palahniuik
Currently feeling: sorta kinda inspired

Be Happy.

The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting.

-from the short story Those Who Walked Away From Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin

i move because this is what my body demands of me, and i know i shouldn't be wasting any time. but if i can disregard this part of who i am, i'd stay still. i'd lock myself in a room and come out god knows when.

what people see as stregth in me is nothing but  habit.
